Frequently asked questions

How do you cite a website with no author in APA 7?
If an organisation is responsible for the page, use it as a group author: (World Health Organization, 2024). If there is no person and no organisation, move the title to the author position: (Title of Page, 2023), with the title in italics for a stand-alone web page. Only use "Anonymous" if the work is actually signed that way.
What does n.d. mean in a citation?
n.d. stands for "no date". It replaces the year when a source has no publication date, both in the in-text citation (Author, n.d.) and in the reference list. APA 7 and Chicago use n.d.; some Harvard guides write (no date) instead.
How do I quote a source without page numbers?
Give another way to find the passage: a paragraph number (para. 4), a section heading, or both. For audio and video, give the time stamp where the quotation starts, e.g. (Cuddy, 2012, 2:12). APA 7 does not use n.p. for missing page numbers, and Kindle location numbers are not page numbers.
