### Do I need Zotero?

No. Acurio checks any thesis with citations and sources. A Zotero export (field codes in the Word document, BibTeX, or RIS) makes source matching even more precise, but it is optional.

### How does the AI citation check work?

Acurio resolves every citation to the matching passage in the source: page, paragraph, match score. A language model actually reads the passage and judges whether it supports your claim. Not a metadata comparison, a substantive check.

### Is Acurio GDPR-compliant and good with Swiss data protection?
